Decolonization
The journey to decolonize mental healthcare is not just about addressing individual traumas but also recognizing our profound separation from land, ancestry, community, and intrinsic joy. By shifting away from the dominant white, heteronormative, patriarchal, and gender-binary narrative, decolonized practices strive for healing through culturally-affirming practices and grounding care in the interconnectedness of our present experiences and the legacies of our ancestors
Neurodiversity
Neurodiversity is the understanding that neurological differences, such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, are natural variations in the human genome. This approach promotes acceptance, respect, and support for all neurotypes, rather than treating them as disorders that need to be cured or fixed.
